West Indies Petroleum Terminal Limited (WIPT) was incorporated as ERI Services (St. Lucia) Limited on August 10, 2006. During 2016, the Company acquired the terminal, storage, and lands located at Part of Long Wharfs, Port Esquivel, St. Catherine, Jamaica, for the purposes of becoming vertically integrated in the fuel business and entering the storage business.
As a result, the Company changed its name in January 2017 from ERI Services (St. Lucia) Limited to West Indies Petroleum Terminal Limited. It is a subsidiary of West Indies Petroleum Limited, whose main activity is the purchase and distribution of fuel petroleum products. This includes fuel, lubricants, gas distribution and bunker trading in the Caribbean with headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica.
The principal activity of West Indies Petroleum Terminal Limited is that of an investment holding company, with its registered office at 20 Micoud Street, Castries, St. Lucia. As an investment holding company, it holds 100% of the shares in West Indies Petroleum South Terminal Limited, formerly JB Terminal (Port Esquivel) Limited.
West Indies Petroleum South Terminal Limited owns and operates a 640,000-barrel fuel storage facility located at Port Esquivel on the south coast of Jamaica. The Company generates revenue from the storage and throughput fees charged on the distribution of fuel to end-users in a wide variety of industries (shipping, fuel retailers, manufacturers etc.).
