Wycliffe Frater Sr.

HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY, ENVIRONMENT (HSSE) AND SHIPPING OPERATIONS MANAGER

Wycliffe Frater Sr. serves as the Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE) and Shipping Operations Manager.  Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica, his educational journey spans institutions across Jamaica and the United States, including Manning’s High School, the University of Technology, Jamaica Maritime Training Institute, Rutgers University and Miami Dade College and specialized training at various institutions across the United States as well in England.  He holds various professional certifications and diplomas, including credentials in General and Grief Counselling.

 

His maritime career began in 1991 when he received a scholarship to pursue his dream of becoming a Merchant Mariner.  Throughout his career, he has held several key positions, including Certified Safety Technician and Assistant Safety Officer at the Caribbean Maritime Institute, where he also served as an Instructor.

Wycliffe is an OSHA General Industry Trainer, PSRA Authorized Trainer, and American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) – authorized Instructor.  He is active in several professional organizations, including the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs and ASIS (America Society of Industrial Security) International.  He formerly chaired the Jamaica Red Cross, St Catherine Branch, and currently chairs the Old Harbour Zonal Disaster Committee.

Wycliffe has been married to Lisa-Marie Frater for over 30 years and is a father of five.
